Child Welfare Engagement

The Ontario government wants to make transformational changes to Ontario's child welfare system to give every child, youth and family the supports they need to succeed and to thrive.

Over the upcoming months, the government will be seeking input on improvements to make the system better coordinated and focused on prevention with services that are high quality, culturally appropriate, sustainable and responsive to the needs of children, youth and families.

The government will be engaging with Indigenous partners, service providers and stakeholders. The government also plans to engage with youth, families, caregivers and frontline workers by asking them to participate through discussions and an online survey. Participants will be asked for their insights about the gaps, barriers, and opportunities to support better outcomes for children, youth and families.
