Camps for kids with ASD
March Break and summer camps give kids with autism the chance to learn new skills and participate in fun activities outside of school, such as bowling, swimming, skating, music, arts and crafts.
These camps also give parents the confidence that their children are well-cared for, safe and happy.
Ontario is now providing ongoing funding for March Break camps so kids with autism can have the opportunity to benefit from this unique learning experience.
Parents, this means you may be eligible to be reimbursed for the cost of a future March Break camp/program or the cost associated with hiring a one-to-one support worker to accompany your child at camp.
Last year, more than 800 children and youth with ASD participated in March Break camps, and more than 1,100 benefited from summer camps across the province.
For more information and to apply for funding, visit Autism Ontario. This year's deadline to apply for March Break camp reimbursement is January 17, 2011.
