Justice Ronald Lester Youth Centre, Thunder Bay

The Justice Ronald Lester Youth Centre is a secure custody facility that accommodates up to 16 young people ages 12 to 17, who are being detained or serving sentences.

The youth centre in Thunder Bay includes:

• Two separate living units for 16 males
• An educational program to help youth develop skills

Construction Milestones

• Construction started –  March 2008
• Opened – March 2009

The Ontario Realty Corporation oversaw the construction of the Justice Ronald Lester Youth Centre.  The Ministry of Children and Youth Services operates the facility.
