Youth Outreach Worker Program
Outreach workers meet youth in the places they hang out to make sure they know about the wide range of programs and services available to them. Since 2006, nearly 128,000 young people have benefited from their support and mentorship. Read their stories.

On June 26, 2015, the government of Ontario introduced the enhanced Ontario Youth Action Plan. The plan will expand the impact of the Ontario government’s efforts to prevent youth violence. It will focus government funding on those youth and communities most in need of support.

Ontario’s Youth Action Plan was developed to foster safer communities and give young people the support and opportunities they need to succeed. Building on the research and recommendations in the Review of the Roots of Youth Violence report, the plan benefits 13,000 youth each year through 20 initiatives.

The government is committed to continuing to work with all levels of government, community partners and Ontario's youth to break down barriers for youth, and provide the necessary supports, services and opportunities they need to succeed.
